For a quick to make dessert and becoz of my tight schedule , I bought a few pack of ready-made puff pastry from the baking store. Made some vol au ven out of them, filled them with some crab meat mushrooms and tada... dessert is ready for serving. The Piggies loved them and the surprising thing was the ready-made puff pastry after baking them , they remained crispy and fluffy. The extras I kept them in a tupper and leave it the fridge and they still remains crispy after a day. You can keep the baked vol au ven ( without the fillings of course ) in the fridge for two days and they still remains crispy. The fillings can be sweet or savoury. I prepared two types of fillings for them...One savoury- the crab meat and fresh mushrooms filling and the other sweet - mango slices with whip cream. You can have anything you fancy and it will still taste yummy :)

Now it is durian season again and this thorny fruit is the family's favourite fruit. Rich in protein and good for the brains but bad for diabetic patient for it is rich in fruit glucose. We had this for dessert last Sunday after a half stomach fulled lunch . We purposely kept a little space in our stomach for this King fruit. I thought of keeping some for making durian puffs but in the end I rather eat it fresh :)) the oomph is terrific.

Mmmmm...the aroma of these lavender-ness is still in air...beautiful fragrance and using them in cupcakes makes them different from others. I would like to thank Kristy of My Little Space for sharing her bag of lavender with me. * must give her a big hug for her generousity in sharing her goodies with me when I get to meet her one day *. It is hard to get them in Ipoh. I tried them out and to my surprised they turn out great. Will be baking more of these lavender goodness tonight :) Added in some lemon zest and it was even more aromatic. Great combo... lavender with a slight tangy taste cuppies will lift your spirit up especially mine...been feeling blue these days...actually a mixture of happiness and sadness........but these little cuppies did cheer me up :) especially with a cup of hot Apple Fruit Tea from Turkey :) This truly soothes my present mood...

I am so happy that I can finally kick start this new dessert corner of mine. I have been wanting to start a new space for my baking passion and this space here will be dedicated to all my bakes which I am going to go full swing LOL! Hopefully I get enough support from you all. Thank you to my Piggy Josh for designing the above header for me. I so LOOVVVEE it ! And this is my first bake for my dessert corner.....Sweet Potato Bun....I have not been making buns for the last few months...ahem almost a year if I am not mistaken but I am glad I have not lost touch on it. No bread machine ...just a pair of willing hands to knead and mold the dough into something light and fluffy...hardwork but worth every ounze of energy spent.

Many of you will know me as Elin of Elinluv's Tidbits Corner . Why start another blog ?? Well simply because I want to have a bigger space just for desserts - cakes , ice cream and sorbets and not to leave out the sweet and decadent pie and tarts. Elinluv's Tidbits Corner will now only cater to meals that I cook for the family :)
This will be another playground where I will play around with baking ingredients and share my bakes with you. Do drop by to drool and drop by for a virtual feast :)) I have a few books on desserts and my better half was grumbling that I had too many and that he has not seen me making anything out of them other than just flipping through them and drooling over them , so from now on , I will try to make some nice treats out of those books above :p and share my baking experience with you .
Before I forget....I want to thank my family for being so supportive of me in starting another new blog. First person - my hubby who gave this new blog it's title. And the second person - Piggy Josh ( son ) for designing the header banner for me and the third person - my Piggy Joanna ( daughter ) for creating the tagline for me.
And of course not to forget all of you sweet people who drop by and leaving me your sweets :))
