Savory Muffin Buns

From the same wholemeal dough which I made for the burger buns,  I took out 250 gm of the dough to make this savory muffins buns for myself.  I added spring onions, smoked bacon bits and corn to the dough and this tasted so good that I will be baking these cute muffin buns again .  The wonderful smell came from the bacon bits...mmmmm this is really good for breakfast...a change from the usual chinese breakfast  ( noodles and all ) that I normally have from the coffee shop in old town :)   Bun making is fun , you can add in any ingredients you like and it will still turn out good.  Love this easy to make savory muffin buns .  Read on for the recipe .............

This bun is nutritious and good for children . You can make them eat veggie and meat at the same time :) and needless to say wholemeal bun is fiber packed.  And when you bake them in little muffins tins, and with colorful muffin liners....the result is amazing.  Colorful and delicious !  I for one can eat three at one go :p  The texture is the same as the burgur bun , firm yet soft and light.  Beautiful buns for the family.  Beautiful in looks and texture and flavor !

1st proofing takes about 1 hr
2nd proofing takes about 20 minutes only
and  bake them at 200C for 15 -20 mins

I like the sweet muffin liners...great for this savory buns :)
I am like a kid at times :p

I can eat three at one is light and soft
imagine this with a cup of hot black coffee...mmmm

love the texture of this bun....btw it can remains soft for 3 days in air tight containers

take out 250 gm of wholemeal dough ( after the 1st proofing- 1 hr)
add smoked bacon bits , spring onions and corn 
till well combined, divide into equal portions
and place each portions in paper lined muffin tins
let it proof for 20 minutes and bake for 20 minutes
or till it is cooked through and lightly browned.
