I am sure many of you would have seen these Kumquat Almond Tea Cakes on Wendy's blog - Table For 2.... Or More :) I was inspired to bake them after reading her post on this kumquat fruit and how she made her own kumquat compote , pureed them and used them for this tea cakes. I cannot imagine how it would taste like so I just had to bake them to satisfy my curiosity and with some luck, I found fresh stocks of fresh kumquat in Jusco a week ago. I hugged the two tubs of fresh kumquat like precious gold and smiling all the time ( if I knew, I would love it , I would have taken the whole lot back home with me and make them into kumquat jam )and WB asked me why was I smiling like I hit the jackpot - told him that these fruits are seasonal and I don't have to wait till next year to try out this delicious tea cakes !

Piggy Josh and his friend Elaine came back to Ipoh for a CNY visit and to savor some of the famous Ipoh food on 4th February. Of course, Wild Boar and myself were happy to take Elaine for some Ipoh food. She came bringing with her lots of CNY goodies and guess what she gave me a recipe book by famous Chefs of Sheraton Hotel and ......wheeee..... she really knows my heart and for me..." the way to your future MIL's heart is through recipe books " :p just kidding. Elaine is Josh's friend and I hope she will drop by more often .....ahem more recipe books then LOL! Besides recipe books, Online college classes can help you expand your base and make unique desserts like this and before she goes back to KL , I baked her a zebra cake with chocolate and walnuts in it. I am happy it turned out great....even though the nuts were slightly burnt on top :p Her parents love it...so that is all that matters !

This is one delicious and aromatic sandwich biscuits that I knew I can never take off from my to-do list :p As many of you know I love anything that comes in heart shapes :) Tomorrow will be Valentine's Day and I thought these sandwiched biscuits would be a great Valentine's treat for Wild Boar. He loves anything coffee and crunchy biscuits are his favourite tea snack treat. So , I baked these earlier for him, for I will be working on Valentine's Day :) and might not be able to make these delectable biscuits in time for him. Best time to bake these would be on a Sunday.

These are my Piggies favorite cupcakes. Anything chocolatey would be fine with them and what more with Baileys buttercream icing ! For people who stays in hostel the past 4 years , these are heaven sent decadent cuppies. I managed to get some cupcake/muffin silicone molds from IKEA when I was with Piggy Joanna last week. She drove me there to do some shopping and you can guess what I bought from IKEA and Daiso LOL! These cupcake/muffin silicone molds were the first on my purchase list :) Love them and can't wait to use them. The moment I arrived back home, I baked these Chocolate Coffee Cupcakes with Baileys Buttercream Frosting for Piggy Josh...and guess what.....it was so good that he ate 4 at one go and he loves the baileys buttercream icing especially. I took one ... gosh it was really YUMMY! The cake was moist and soft. The aroma of coffee and chocolate filled the house while it was baking in the oven , and while they were cooling on the rack, the fragrance of these two ingredients was enough to bring Wild Boar to the table ! :)
